Professor Brainstorm

On Tuesday 6th March, we were very lucky to have Professor Brainstorm (Scientist) come into our school to perform a 'Fantastic Forces Science Show'. He showed us some exciting experiments to do with forces and magnets, some of our Year 2 children were lucky enough to assist him with his experiments!

Making Slime

For Science week Year 2 carried out an experiment looking at solids and liquids. We added water and food colouring to cornflour and noticed the change in its state when being rough or gentle with it.

Slime

The magic slime was solid to touch if we poked it hard or dropped something on it but if we were gentle and slow the slime turned into a liquid.

3D shapes.

We have been naming different 3D shapes, as well as identifying their properties.  We carried out investigations to find out which 3D shapes roll and stack on top of one another.  We found that shapes with corners did not roll and shapes with flat edges can be stacked.

BIG Maths

Every Friday we enjoy doing our "Big Maths: Beat that" challenges.
