Senses Search

To link with our "Made in Cumbria" topic, the children searched the school garden to think of ideas to inspire their writing. They looked for what they may see, hear, smell, touch and taste.

The Enormous Turnip!

In year 2 we have been learning the story 'The enormous turnip' linking to our Harvest festival and focusing on the importance of sharing.

We have created some fantastic acrostic poems about the enormous turnip as well as creating some turnip art and our own 'schoolmade' vegetable and turnip soup!

'Exciting Writing'

In year 2 we love our 'Exciting Writing' on a Thursday morning.  We work in groups to discuss and share ideas linking to our talk homework, this helps us to plan our writing.  We then start our 'Exciting Writing' with peaceful music and a candle to help get our creative juices flowing!
