Why have a School Uniform?

Wearing a uniform gives children a sense of belonging to their school. It helps pupils share a common identity regardless of finance, background, culture or religion. It removes peer pressure to buy designer label clothes and shoes that can be very expensive. We believe it contributes to a more settled environment and therefore helps children and teenagers get ready to learn.

Our Uniform

All children are expected to wear school uniform, which is purchased directly by parents.  Uniform is currently supplied by BE Uniforms, 11 West Tower Street, Carlisle CA3 8QT.  However parents can buy uniform in any of the other high street stores or supermarkets without the school logo. In the interests of health and hygiene, trainers are not considered suitable footwear for the school day.

Pupils are expected to play outside unless the weather is particularly inclement. Children in EYFS will be learning outside every day, regardless of the weather conditions. It is therefore essential that warm, shower proof, outdoor clothing is brought to school each day throughout the year and in summer a sun hat or cap.

The main uniform consists of:

  • Royal Blue sweatshirt / cardigan with/without the school logo.
  • White or blue polo shirts.
  • Navy blue fleece with/without the school logo
  • Black shoes (Trainers for P.E. only)
  • Grey skirt, pinafore or trousers / shorts
  • In summer blue school dresses can be worn

Our PE Kit is:

  • PE Kit Bags (the Uniform Shop)
  • Black/Dark Blue Shorts and plain white T Shirt
  • Navy blue track suit with/without the school logo
  • Trainers/plimsolls
  • In winter we advise children to wear jogging/track suit  bottoms
  • When applicable pupils will need swimming trunks/costume/hat (boys and girls)

All items should be labelled with the child's name. This is a big help when items are lost. Name labels can be obtained through the link below.
